Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Class Tracker (“we”, “us”). They apply when you visit classtracker.lk (the “website”) or use the Class Tracker application (the “app”). If you use the app for an institute rather than for yourself, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” then means the institute.

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled and forms part of these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or app.

Class Tracker is a class management platform for tuition teachers. It helps you keep records of classes, teachers, students and parents, attendance, fees and accounts, and print student ID cards and reports.

It is a record-keeping tool. It does not collect or transfer money, and the fee and account figures it shows are only as accurate as the information entered into it. You remain responsible for your own accounts, receipts and any tax or legal obligations.

There is no public sign-up. We set up your account, and any assistants' logins, after you contact us through Get Started and we agree to work together. Each person is invited by email and signs in with a password or a Google account.

• Keep your sign-in details private and do not share your account with anyone.
• Tell us promptly if a staff member leaves or you think an account has been misused, so we can remove its access.
• You are responsible for what your assistants do in the app, and for telling us what each of them should be allowed to see and change.
• Student ID cards identify a student to the app. Treat them like any other ID, and invalidate a card in the app if it is lost.

It stays yours. You own the records you put into Class Tracker. We do not claim ownership of them. You give us permission to store and process them only so we can provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for what you record. Many students are children, and you decide what information to record about them, their parents and your teachers. Make sure that:

• you have the right to collect and use that information;
• parents, guardians and teachers know what you record and why, and you have their permission where the law requires it;
• the information is accurate and kept up to date; and
• you use it only to run your classes.

If a student, parent or teacher asks to see, correct or delete their information, you are responsible for responding, and we will help you do so.

You agree not to:

• break the law or anyone's rights when you use the website or app;
• record information you have no right to collect;
• try to see another teacher's records, bypass permissions or interfere with the security of the service;
• send harmful code, overload the service, or use automated tools to copy it or its content; or
• resell the service or use it to build a competing product.

We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts others at risk, and we will tell you why where we can.

Class Tracker is a monthly subscription. We agree the price and payment terms with you before you start using the app. Nothing on this website is a binding price offer, and using the Get Started form does not commit you to anything.

We aim to keep the app available and working well, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. It needs an internet connection, and maintenance, faults and problems with our providers may occasionally affect it. We recommend you keep your own record of important figures, such as your yearly accounts.

We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we make a change that significantly affects how you work, we will tell you in advance wherever we can.

The Class Tracker name, logo, software and the content on this website belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use them only to use the service as intended. Some photographs on this website are used under the free licences of Unsplash and Pexels, and remain the work of their photographers, who are credited in the footer.

The website and app are provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that are indirect or that we could not reasonably have foreseen, such as lost income or profit, or for losses caused by information being entered wrongly, by misuse of an account, or by events outside our control.

Where we are responsible to you despite this, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the problem arose. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited by law.

You can stop using Class Tracker at any time by telling us. We may end or suspend access if these terms are broken or the agreed fees are not paid, or if we stop providing the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice.

When your access ends, we will return a copy of your records on request and then delete them, as described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka may hear any dispute about them. We would always rather solve a problem with you directly first, so please contact us.

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell teachers using the app. If you keep using the website or app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
